So, back to Ozz for the most important event in world cricket - The Ashes!

Like the Ryder Cup, this series of five, 5-day Test matches, is played every two years, and is contested between England and Australia - the venue alternates each time between England and Australia.

England won the last series, in England, and now we're off to Ozz for the return leg.

Dennis Lillee - whose devastating partnership with Jeff Thomson destroyed the England side, in Australia, on the 1974/75 tour - predicts that the Aussie bowling attack this time will be too strong for England. We'll see.

Anyone like to punt who's going to win the series? Big Grin

Forgive me, as no one has replied to date, but I wish I understood this more.

The only cricket pitch ( oh lookeee, she understands the terminology) I've seen was next to a goddamned pasture with sheep! And I have a photo of it!

It seems a rather poor version of American baseball (waits to get slammed).

We await your pictures of the sheep-side pitch to make any judgement?

Here you go, Bren. Two views of the pitch and sheep pasture in question.

Whilst it's not 'County standard', it's good enough to play local village green type cricket. I've certainly played on worse love.

England 517 for 1 against a thoroughly ordinary looking Aussie XI.

Roll on Adelaide. Big Grin

You can tell England is playing well judging by the distinct lack of Aussie comments round here

But seriously, it's a strong English side at the moment and they're palying an Australian team in transition. It bodes well...

Keep it up guys, coz even a relatively average (by comparison to the recent squad that included Warne, McGrath et al) Australian side will fight tooth and claw for a result.
